SELECTED COLLECTIONS + AWARDS

In 2012 Derby Museum and Art Gallery commissioned The Captive for their permanent collection to respond to the work of Joseph Wright for his 275th birthday celebrations.

Emma Tooth's paintings also feature in the collections of Lazinc. and Derby Chamber of Commerce, as well as many private collections all over the world including the UK, France, Iceland, North America and South Africa.

In 2010 Derbyshire Libraries and The Big Lottery Grant commissioned 2 large paintings for 2 newly-built libraries. Emma met with members of the public who were likely to be using the new libraries and discussed what they wanted, later using them as models. The paintings needed to show that the library welcomed people of all ages and that a variety of media were available - not just books. Additionally, Emma wanted to get across the idea of inter-generational learning and information being passed between people.

In 2004 and 2008 Emma was awarded UK Arts Council funding for her Ophelia and Concilium Plebis projects, respectively.
